Disadvantages of machine room-less elevators:

1.Noise problem: Machine room-less home elevators use steel connections and the noise must be digested in the shaft. Coupled with the sound of the brake, the sound of the fan will be amplified. The noise of the machine room is obviously louder than that of the machine room.

2.Temperature impact: The main heating components such as the main engine of the machine room are in the shaft. Since there are no corresponding cooling and exhaust facilities, the temperature of the machine roomless elevator has a greater impact on the main engine and control cabinet.


・Common shaft layout for machine room-less elevators


1. Host top-mountedtype
The main machine is placed in the space between the top compartment of the shaft and the elevator shaft wall. In order to make the connection between the control cabinet and the main machine short enough, the control cabinet is generally placed next to the hall door on the top floor.

2. Host under-mounted
The main machine is placed in the pit part of the hoistway and placed on the projection space between the pit carriage and the counterweight. The control cabinet is generally wall-mounted.

3. Place the host machine on the car
The host computer is placed on the top of the car, and the control cabinet is placed on the side of the car. In this arrangement, the number of accompanying cables and ropes is relatively large.

4. The host machine and control cabinet are placed in the opening space on the side wall of the shaft
This method has no special requirements for the size of the host and control cabinet, but it requires that the opening part of the building be thick enough and have an access door.
